Hello everyone, my name is Joseph Giannone and my passion is storytelling. Growing up, my father bought a PANASONIC AG-170 VHS camcorder and from playing the "weatherman" to boxing matches, my dad used this VHS camera to catalog our childhood.
In middle school I found his camera and started using it to film movies with my friends. From "The Amish," a crime thriller about an Amish man who stole a child's stuffed monkey to stunt videos, I spent most of middle school learning how to compose shots and tell a story visually rather than verbally.
After purchasing my father a new camera, because we broke it when we strapped it to a skateboard (Gopro before Gopro!) I also purchased myself a Canon ZR200 Mini DV Camcorder and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to film more short films in high school. Numerous short films later, my love of filmmaking only grew and I went to college to follow my passion.
Now I have worked over 6 years in the video industry. During college I filmed weddings for 2 years and did my post graduate work with In Trouble Zone Productions (ITZ) in Naples, Florida. After a year with ITZ, I began my freelance videography career with WINK TV, the Southwest Florida CBS affiliate. After shooting and editing over 300 commercials, I began work on multiple promotion campaigns with the station, creating their unique vision to capture audiences.
I currently work for Arthrex, an orthropedic surgical device company, in their video production department as a video editor, podcast producer, and videographer. I use an array of high-end equipment and software; ranging from Canon C300, ARRI Lights, and the Adobe Creative Cloud.
Over the past 2 years I have had training at NAB, FMC, Editors Retreat and Vern Oakley's Leadership in Focus. Arthrex has provided me so many opportunities to grow and I have learned to become a leader and create high end video production for any client.
As a person who wears many hats, I always try to push myself and do the best work I possibly can. I am always trying to evolve and learn. From my early years filmming with my father's VHS camera, I learned the power of storytelling and how to show the beauty of the world with a camera.
